베이 오브 플렌티에 본사를 둔 와인메이커 Morton Estate가 2년 연속 국제 대회에서 찬사를 받았다.
Morton Estate의 샤도네이(chardonnay) 빈티지인 Coniglio가 런던에서 열린 Decanter Wine Awards 10파운드 이상 부문에서 최고상을 수상했다. Coniglio는 또한 뉴질랜드 최고 샤도네이 트로피(the Regional Trophy for Best NZ Chardonnay)도 수상했다.
판정관들은 Cogiglio의 2년 연속 수상은 뉴질랜드 샤도네이 와인의 국제적 인지도를 더욱 높였으며 뉴질랜드가 이미 명성을 획득한 쇼비뇽 블랑(sauvignon blanc)에 이어 주목할 만한 와인으로 평가했다.
Coiglio는 이 대회에서 유명한 2개 와인, the Jean-Claude Boisset Champ Gain Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru Bourgogne 2004 와 the Wolf Blass Gold Label Chardonnay 2005와 경쟁해 2년 연속 수상의 영광을 안았다. - NEWSTALK ZB

Tasting Note
A wine of exceptional style and elegance, hand crafted from the finest Chardonnay fruit grown in our unique Hawke's Bay vineyard at Riverview. Produced only in years when the fruit achieves absolute perfection, hand selection and whole bunch pressing have created a style that is seamless and the pinnacle of the winemaker's art.
As a result of using new French oak barriques, in which this wine has been fermented and then matured, fruit and oak are fully integrated in a palate that is soft, yet full with great length of flavour.
