타우랑가의 IRD (세무서)에서 두 분이 오늘 저희 사무실에서 오셨어요.
타우랑가에 거주하는 한국인들을 위한 세미나를 개최해주실 수 있다고 하시더라고요.
뉴질랜드 이민성, IRD 그리고 타우랑가 시티 카운실이 해외 이민자들 정착을 돕기 위해 운영하는 파일럿 프로그램인 "Welcoming community programme' 일환입니다.
무료 세미나 개최를 위해서는 원래 최소 18명 이상의 참석자가 있어야 되는데요.
한국 이민자들이 뉴질랜드에서 꼭 알아야 될 세금, 고용, 그리고 부동산 & 주택 구입 등과 관련한 정보를 위해 특별히 소수의 인원만 참석하신다고 해도 특별히 세미나를 주최해주신다고 하십니다.
오클랜드 IRD에 한국 직원분도 계신다고 하시거든요.

You can apply online in all cases but if offshore you need to complete an IR742 and either have a NZ bank account or complete a IR997 first. Once completed all forms can be emailed to Inland Revenue.
If you are in NZ and can't apply for an IRD number online, you can take the appropriate form, along with your documents to either Automobile Association (AA) Driver Licensing Agents or PostShops.
Guide for migrants
While the name of this guide indicates that it is intended for tax agent use, it is written in plain language and the IR1069 may be useful for members of your community. It has information about the New Zealand tax system and tax on international income, eg, from businesses, trusts and pensions. Tax agents specialising in these areas can give more detailed advice, but this guide is a good place to start.
